A round table discussion took place in the Elit Plaza focusing on the constitutional regulations of socioeconomic rights.
The event was organized by the “Union of Informed Citizens” in collaboration with the EaP CSF’s Armenian National Platform.
The discussion was attended by individuals representing various groups including the legislative body, government, Constitutional Court, Office of the Human Rights Defender, civil society, and lawyers with expertise in the field. Hovsep Khurshudyan, who is the coordinator of the EaP CSF’s Armenian Natioanl Platform, moderated the event.
At the event, Davit Hakobyan, member of the Specialized Commission for Constitutional Reforms, Anahit Simonyan, director of the Human Rights Research Center, and lawyer-expert Nvard Piliposyan, among others, delivered speeches. After the speeches, there was a Q&A session and a discussion on various professional issues, such as the authority to appeal to the Constitutional Court, the direct effect of specific human rights, the state’s positive duties regarding these rights, and more.
