Capacity Building of Young Civic Activists of Shirak region, Armenia

“Free Citizen” Civic Initiatives Support Center and Public Movement Multinational Georgia in partnership with People in Need (Czech Republic) and SALTO Youth Eastern Europe and Caucasus Resource (Poland) are launching the implementation of the project “Young Activist” Young Civic Activists Capacity Building in Social Campaigning.

                              

On 01 October 2017, “Free Citizen” CISC organized a workshop for local youth as part of the Project in Gyumri, Shirak region, Armenia. This was the fifth of 12 workshops planned for Armenia within the framework of the Project “Young Activist”. The workshops are dedicated to raising participants’ awareness of the European Union, the Council of Europe, the Eastern Partnership, and the Visegrad 4 format, and to providing general information on campaigning, including social media, public speaking, and debating, as well as other relevant topics.

27 young civic activists from all over the Shirak region participated in the workshop. Ambassador Irena Krasnická, a representative of the Visegrad International Fund, also attended the workshop and addressed participants.

During the workshop, the following issues were also discussed, which have been identified by the participants as more relevant for the Youth of their region:

  • Ecology;
  • Unemployment of disabled people
  • Youth social and political engagement.
