Yerevan-Tsaghkadzor, 2023
Within the framework of the “Intensive Strengthening of Human Rights Defenders in Armenia” program, “Free Citizen” NGO, in collaboration with Protection International, with the support of the Heinrich Böll Foundation (Germany), conducted training courses for young people from Yerevan and the regions.
During the training, the participants’ knowledge was deepened
- about human rights, international organizations that protect them,
- peacemaking and conflicts, including the settlement of the Artsakh conflict,
- mediation and negotiations,
- disabled and targeted persons, refugees, victims of domestic violence, minorities,
- social work with people living near the front line/state borders,
- International humanitarian law, war crimes,
- The Rome Statute and the Hague International Criminal Court.
A special training course on personal data protection and information security was conducted.
Three of the courses were held in Yerevan for young people aged 18-23, then 24-30.
The second stage of the courses was held in one of the resorts in Tsaghkadzor during the summer.
The third stage of the course took place online in the fall and lasted 6 days, with several hours of instruction a day. It was conducted by European experts. Simultaneous translation was provided.
The participants were also provided with a daily allowance of 8,000 AMD, in addition to the days of the summer school.
The graduates received a certificate of completion.
