We are deeply saddened to learn that Edgar Khachatryan, Director of the “Peace Dialogue” NGO and National Coordinator of the EaP CSF Armenia, passed away after a long illness.
In the person of Edgar, the advocates of Armenia’s sovereignty lost an important and strong ally. Edgar was one of the best representatives of civil society, an ardent supporter of Armenia’s European integration; his reasoned speech was heard and liked by more and more people in the media and social media. In December 2023, he replaced Hovsep Khurshudyan as the Coordinator of the EaP CSF Armenia National Platform and continued to coordinate the Platform to strengthen that structure and Armenia’s activities aimed at European integration.
We will always remember Edgar as an honest, good person, a principled and free citizen, an unwavering public figure, a patriotic Armenian, and a loyal friend.
May Edgar’s soul always remain in the light. On behalf of the “Free Citizen” NGO, we express our deepest condolences to Edgar’s family members and all relatives.
