<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\nV4 YOUTH ENGAGEMENT IN SELF-GOVERNANCE<\/strong><\/span>
\nin the Ashtarak sub-region of the Aragatsotn region<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n17 August 2019<\/em><\/p>\n\u201cFree Citizen\u201d Civic Initiatives Support Center, with the support of the International Visegrad Fund, is launched the implementation of project V4 for Youth engagement in self-governance.<\/p>\n
On 17 August 2019 \u201cFree Citizen\u201d CISC organized a workshop for the local youth in the framework of the Project in the city of Ashtarak, Aragatsotn region of Armenia. This is the first of the 17 workshops, which are planned to organize in the framework of the Project \u201cV4 for Youth engagement in local self-governance\u201d. 12 young civic activists from the Ashtarak sub-region of the Aragatsotn marz (region) from 18 to 30 years old, who are interested in their communities\u2019 issues participated in the workshop.<\/p>\n
The workshop was aimed to strengthen young civic activists\u2019 capacities on engagement with local self-governance, as well as raise awareness among participants about the European Union, Council of Europe, Eastern Partnership, and Visegrad 4 format.<\/p>\n
During the event it was also discussed the following issues, which have been identified by the participants as more relevant for the Youth of their communities:<\/p>\n
\n- Absence of Youth centers, absence or poor state of the houses of culture and libraries;<\/li>\n
- Unemployment;<\/li>\n
- The problem of effective professional career orientation for university and college applicants- based on market needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
