{"id":5042,"count":1,"description":"The project \u201cIntensive Empowerment of Human Rights Defenders in Armenia\u201d was implemented by the \u201cFree Citizen\u201d Civic Initiatives Support Center NGO in cooperation with Protection International, with the support of the Heinrich B\u00f6ll Foundation. Young people from Yerevan and the regions of Armenia participated in the training courses organized within the framework of the project.\r\n\r\nDuring the trainings, participants deepened their knowledge of human rights, international organizations that protect these rights, peacebuilding and conflicts\u2014including the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict\u2014mediation, social work with persons with disabilities and other targeted groups, refugees, victims of domestic violence, minorities, and people living near the frontline or state borders. The program also covered international humanitarian law, war crimes, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and the International Criminal Court. A special training session was also conducted on personal data protection and information security.\r\n\r\nIn parallel with the activities in Armenia, Protection International implemented a similar program in Azerbaijan. At the end of the project, participants from both countries had the opportunity to communicate online with their counterparts.
