Conference “Youth for Local Democracy”

The “Youth for Local Democracy” conference was held at the “Ani Grand” Hotel as part of the “V4 for the involvement of youth in local self-government” program. The Conference hosted 60 young people from across Armenia.

During the Conference, the experience of the Visegrad Four countries in involving youth in local self-government, as well as existing local self-government activities and programs in Armenia, was presented. “Local Self-Government: The Main Challenges” and “The Main Problems of Communities and Local Self-Government in Armenia and Increasing the Youth Role in Their Solution” panel discussions took place.

At the end of the Conference, the winners of the Essay contest of the “Visegrad 4 for the involvement of youth in local self-government” program and the authors of the best proposals, as well as the winners of the “Free Citizen” nomination for 2019 and 2020 years were awarded.

The “V4 for the involvement of youth in local self-government” program is funded by the Visegrad International Fund. The program is dedicated to building the capacity of youth in Armenia’s regions in local self-government.

The Conference is being organized by the “Free Citizen” Civic Initiatives Support Center NGO in close cooperation with the Communities Association of Armenia.
