The Platform of Democratic Forces held its conference in the large hall of the Ani Grand Hotel, summarizing the results of the Eurovote signature collection. The participants noted that the political and civil forces that authored the initiative have done their part, and it is now the Armenian authorities’ turn to take the initiative and discuss and adopt the law “On starting the process of Armenia’s accession to the European Union” in the National Assembly.
Aram Sargsyan, the head of the EuroVote headquarters and the chairman of the “Republic” party, informed participants that the headquarters had submitted 60,000 signatures to the Central Electoral Committee on the same day.
The speakers emphasized the importance of Armenia’s membership in the European Union for civilization and for security, economy, and other areas. Ultimately, the forum participants adopted a statement calling on the authorities to promptly discuss and adopt the draft law presented by the EuroVote initiative group in the National Assembly.
